[Announcements for BES Administrators]

BigFix has modified two sets of content in the Patches for Windows (English) / Enterprise Security site:


1. The patch binary in the following Fixlet message has detection issues for specific versions of Visio Viewer 2007 under some circumstances:

ID: 906282  MS09-062: Vulnerabilities in GDI+ Could Allow Remote Code Execution - Excel/PowerPoint Viewer 2007 Gold/SP1/SP2, Visio Viewer 2007 SP1/SP2

The following notice has been added:

Important Note: There are detection issues associated with versions of Visio Viewer 2007 in this patch binary. Under certain circumstances, despite a vulnerable file being present, and despite a vulnerable version of Visio Viewer 2007 being installed on the system, the patch will fail to apply. This is a problem that must ultimately be resolved by Microsoft.


2. The Malicious Software Removal Tool content has been updated for Windows 2008 R2:
