[BESAdmin-Announcements] Content Modification Announcement - Enterprise Security

Several modifications have been made to Fixlet content in the
"Enterprise Security" site:

 

1. Microsoft has updated security bulletins MS07-004 and MS07-005 to
reflect that Windows Server 2003 (x64) Service Pack 2 is an affected
product. Fixlet content for MS07-004 and MS07-005 has been modified
accordingly.

ID 700413: "MS07-004: Vulnerability in Vector Markup Language Could
Allow Remote Code Execution - IE 7.0 - Windows XP/2003 (x64)"

ID 700414: "MS07-004: CORRUPT PATCH - IE 7.0 - Windows XP/2003 (x64)"

 

ID 700505: "MS07-005: Vulnerability in Step-by-Step Interactive Training
Could Allow Remote Code Execution - Windows XP/2003 (x64)"

ID 700506: "MS07-005: CORRUPT PATCH - Windows XP/2003 (x64)"

 

2. Microsoft has released security advisory 927891
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/927891.mspx) to
announce the availability of an update for Windows Installer.  Fixlet
content is now available to deploy the update to affected machines.

ID 92789102: "927891: CORRUPT PATCH - Windows XP SP2"

ID 92789103: "927891: Fix for Windows Installer - Windows 2003 Server
SP1/SP2"

ID 92789104: "927891: CORRUPT PATCH - Windows 2003 Server SP1/SP2"

ID 92789105: "927891: Fix for Windows Installer - Windows 2000 SP4"

ID 92789106: "927891: CORRUPT PATCH - Windows 2000 SP4"

ID 92789107: "927891: Fix for Windows Installer - Windows XP/2003 (x64)"

ID 92789108: "927891: CORRUPT PATCH - Windows XP/2003 (x64)"            

 

BES administrators are encouraged to verify open actions and synchronize
baselines that contain the modified content.  Instructions for
