[BESAdmin-Announcements] Content Modification Announcement - Enterprise Security

Several sets of Fixlet messages have been modified in the "Enterprise
Security" Fixlet site.

 

1. MS06-061 modification.

 

The original release of the Fixlet messages may cause temporary progress
windows or a reboot request dialog box to be displayed on client
machines running XML Core Services 4.0 or XML Core Services 6.0. The
command line switches for two MS06-061 updates has been modified to make
the patch deployment completely silent.

2. MS06-057 modification.

 

The relevance for MS06-057 has been modified to identify all computers
that need the update. The original release did not target all affected
versions of "comctl32.dll". The file check relevance has been modified
to address this issue.

3. Superseded content.

 

Several sets of Fixlet messages have been superseded by the new October
security updates. Affected Fixlet messages have been modified
accordingly:

4. End of Support for Windows XP SP1.

 

Microsoft has announced that Windows XP Service Pack 1 is no longer
supported after October 10, 2006 and that they will no longer provide
security updates. The "Microsoft Unsupported" warning Fixlet message has
been updated to detect computers still running Windows XP SP1 or
earlier.

BES Administrators are encouraged to verify any open actions involving
