BigFix is pleased to announce the availability of BES 5.1!
 
BES 5.1 extends the capabilities of BES 5.0 by adding a number of new
features and performance enhancements.

The upgrade is available to all BES customers at no charge. BigFix
recommends upgrading whenever possible to take advantage of the new
features, optimizations, and bug fixes.
 
As with all BES upgrades, you can upgrade any component manually or by using
Fixlet messages available on the BES Support Fixlet site (the upgrade
Fixlets are on a staged roll-out plan so if you do not see them relevant
currently, they will be relevant in the next few days). At first you will
see a Fixlet message relevant to upgrade your BES Server and BES Consoles.
After the BES Server is upgraded, Fixlet messages to upgrade the BES Clients
and BES Relays will become relevant shortly afterward (within a few hours).

Please note that due to some performance optimizations, the BES Server
version 5.1 will no longer support BES Clients version 3.1 and earlier.
Please upgrade the BES Clients version 3.1 and earlier before upgrading the
BES Server to version 5.1. All other BES Client versions (4.0 and later) are
compatible with BES 5.1.
 
A number of customers (both large and small) have already upgraded and the
feedback is overwhelmingly positive.
