A new variant of the W32.Sober mass mailing worm was discovered recently and
has increased in prevalence in the last couple days. To address this issue,
Fixlet message #302616 "ALERT: W32.Sober Worm Detected" has been published
in the "Client Manager for Anti-Virus" Fixlet site to detect and remove
variants of the W32.Sober worm using Symantec's W32.Sober removal tool.

In addition, McAfee has updated its Stinger tool to detect new variants of
W32.Sober and Task message #223 "Run McAfee Stinger on Client Computer" in
the "Client Manager for Anti-Virus" Fixlet site has been updated to deploy
the latest version of the tool.
