Fixlet Description: Oracle has released a new version of the Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE). Use the action below to update Java to version 8, update 74. 

Important Note: The Java Runtime Environment update does not remove versions of JRE older than JRE 8 update 74. Multiple versions of JRE may be present on affected computers after applying the action below. Fixlet message "Multiple JRE Versions Installed" (ID 7052001) can be used to uninstall older versions of the Java Runtime Environment.

Important Note: Follow the link for the 'Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 8 update 74' download on this page. The file "jre-8u74-windows-i586.exe" must be downloaded, renamed "66347c0fbd7aba0a2ea03777fd85ab56987835fd", and placed in the BES Server download cache for this action to complete successfully. For more information about manually caching file downloads on the BES Server, please see the following BigFix Support Knowledge Base article.

Important Note: For Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2 users, the installation may fail if the User Account Control (UAC) is enabled.

Important Note: To avoid any service interruption on the client computer, use the default action only when client computers do not have any running instances of Java, Internet Explorer, or Firefox. The default action does not close any running instances these applications on the client machines. If any of these applications are running on the client computers, the default action might fail. Schedule the update to occur at a time when the client machine is not using these applications.

Important Note: Choosing the "Upgrade to the latest JRE regardless of whether or not Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Java is currently running action" will close any running instance of Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Java on the client machines. Please schedule the update to occur at a time when a service interruption is acceptable.

Fixlet Description: Note: This Fixlet Message is for audit purposes only. Due to the nature of the install, BigFix does not have an action for installing Google Chrome. Google has released a new version of the Chrome browser (48.0.2564.109). The listed computers have an older version of Google Chrome installed. Follow the link for the enterprise edition of 'Google Chrome 48.0.2564.109' download on this page. 

Important Note: This Fixlet will detect the existence of an outdated Google Chrome for both the consumer edition and the enterprise edition. Installing the enterprise edition of Google Chrome may not uninstall nor update the consumer edition. Additionally, problems may occur when installing the enterprise edition of Google Chrome on a computer that already has the consumer edition present. BigFix recommends that the consumer edition of Google Chrome is uninstalled before installing the enterprise edition. Fixlet message "Google Chrome - Consumer Edition Installed" (ID 14011003) can be used to uninstall the consumer edition of Google Chrome.

Important Note: If this Fixlet is still relevant after installing the latest enterprise edition of Google Chrome, the issue is most likely that the computer has an outdated consumer edition installed.
