Severity: Critical
Fixlet ID: 2072007

Fixlet Link: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61798
Fixlet Link: http://www.sans.org/top20/#c4

Fixlet Description: Apple has released a new version of the stand-alone QuickTime player. Use the action below to update QuickTime to the latest version (7.6.8).

Important Note: (1) On client machines running a browser window that contains a QuickTime plugin object, the installation will force the machine to reboot. (2) On client machines running iTunes, a dialog box prompting the user to close the program or cancel the installation will be displayed during action execution; cancelling the installation will cause the action to report back as "Failed". (3) The QuickTime update will also automatically shutdown all running instances of the QuickTime player.

To prevent any and all of these behaviors, it is recommended that you run this action with the user constraint "Run only when no user is present", or display a message box before action execution instructing the user to shutdown all applications mentioned above before applying the update.
