MS06-042 “REVISED PATCH” and “CORRUPT PATCH” Fixlet
messages that causes some machines to not report relevant even though the
revised patch is needed. The original relevance inspects the registry key
“HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Internet Explorer 6\SP1\KB918899-IE6SP1-20060725.123917\Filelist\14”
to verify the version of the file “urlmon.dll” installed by the
applied update. Depending on the system configuration at the time of patch
installation, the “urlmon.dll” file information may be stored under
a different subkey, causing the relevance to incorrectly evaluate to false. The
Fixlet messages have been modified to search through all “Filelist”
subkeys to determine whether or not the original update is installed.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
