● Total Deleted Fixlets: 0

● Total Fixlets in Site: 175

*New Fixlets:*

● Amazon Linux 2023 must ensure that the rsyslog service is running
and persistent.

● The Amazon Linux 2023 SSH client must be configured to use only
DOD-approved encryption ciphers employing FIPS 140-3-validated
cryptographic hash algorithms to protect the confidentiality of SSH client
connections.

● The Amazon Linux 2023 SSH client must be configured to use only
DOD-approved Message Authentication Codes (MACs) employing FIPS
140-3-validated cryptographic hash algorithms to protect the
confidentiality of SSH client connections.

● Amazon Linux 2023 must implement DOD-approved encryption in the bind
package.

*Updated Fixlets:*

● Amazon Linux 2023 must have the rsyslog package installed.

● Amazon Linux 2023 must encrypt, via the OpenSSL TLS (ossl) driver,
the transfer of audit records off-loaded onto a different system or media
from the system being audited by rsyslog.

● Amazon Linux 2023 must allow only the information system security
manager (ISSM) (or individuals or roles appointed by the ISSM) to select
which auditable events are to be audited.

● Amazon Linux 2023 system commands must be group-owned by root or a
system account.

● Amazon Linux 2023 must ensure the pcscd socket is active.

● Amazon Linux 2023 must enable FIPS mode.

● Amazon Linux 2023 must routinely check the baseline configuration
for unauthorized changes and notify the system administrator (SA) when
anomalies in the operation of any security functions are discovered.

● Amazon Linux 2023 must automatically lock an account when three
unsuccessful logon attempts occur.

● Amazon Linux 2023 must terminate idle user sessions.

*Additional details:*

● Both analysis and remediation checks are included.

● Some of the checks allow you to use the parameterized setting to
enable customization for compliance evaluation. Note that parameterization
and remediation actions require the creation of a custom site.

● Improved a few checks by adding the pending restart feature to them.
The pending restart feature works in the following ways:

● The action results will show “Pending Restart” instead of “Fixed”
for those checks which require OS reboot.

● The check will show relevant for those endpoints until they are
rebooted.

● Post reboot of the endpoint the action results will show as “Fixed”
and the check will be compliant.

*Action to take:*

● To subscribe to the above site, you can use the License Overview
Dashboard to enable and gather the site. Note that you must be entitled to
