*BigFix UEM / MCM v3.6 Release Notes*

This new release focuses on strengthening zero trust and conditional access
capabilities via geofencing, real-time remote visibility, and enhanced
device integrity monitoring, along with expanded Chrome OS management
features.

*New Features and Major Enhancements*

*1. Geofencing*
The platform has introduced location-based management, enabling
Administrators to establish zones using geographic perimeters. This
functionality automates the enforcement of Mobile Device Management Actions
and Policies as devices enter or leave these specified areas.

● *Policy Enforcement:* Automatically triggers specific security rules,
policy groups, and device actions (e.g., lock, restart) upon zone
transition.
● *Platform Support:* Fully supported for iOS and Android devices.
● *Integration:* Features Web UI integration with Google Maps API for
improved zone creation and visualization.
● *Notifications:* Provides real-time notifications to both administrators
(Web UI) and end-users (UEM mobile app) during zone entry/exit.

*2. Remote View (Android and iOS)*
A view-only screen streaming feature that allows administrators to view the
end user's mobile screen in real time from the BigFix Web UI for
troubleshooting.

● *View-Only:* The feature is currently view-only and requires explicit
user consent for every session.
● *New Components:* Requires the deployment of the MDM Broker (for session
signaling) and a Coturn server (for media relay).
● *Security:* The solution focuses on integrity and authenticity with
secret key transmission via calculated hash values and replay protection.

*3. Jailbreak / Device Compromise Detection*
Provides the ability to detect and report the status of compromised devices
to reduce enterprise security risks.

● *Supported Detection:* Reports *rooted* Android devices and *jailbroken*
iOS devices.
● *Compliance Enforcement:* Enables administrators to configure Compliance
Enforcement Settings to apply automated remediation actions upon detection
(e.g., deleting the work profile, or applying restriction policies to
disable features like camera and screen capture).

*4. Battery Health Monitoring*
Enables integrated insights of corporate-enrolled hardware through
proactive monitoring of battery health and performance, it assists in
identifying and resolving potential hardware failures or productivity
disruptions before they occur.

● *Battery Data:* Battery Health, Battery level, charging state, and
temperature for Android and iOS/iPadOS devices.
● *Visibility:* Battery data is displayed in the Web UI on the Device page
and Device Details page.
● *Sync:* Data synchronization is triggered by device events, periodic
checks, and on-demand administrator refresh actions.

*5. Chrome OS Management Improvements*
Expanded support for Chrome OS policy control and device management.

● *New Policies:* New policy templates introduced for Kiosk Device Policy,
User Restriction Policy, and User Password Policy.
● *Kiosk Modes:* Supports both Multi-App Mode, allowing users to switch
between approved Kiosk apps, and Single App (Auto Launch Mode)
automatically opening a single app after startup.
● *Kiosk Device Settings:* New policies allow for configuring device-level
settings such as screen rotation, high contrast mode, dictation, and screen
magnifier.
● *Policy Backend:* Added backend support for Chrome OS policy data
restoration and policy tables in PostgresDB.
