[BESAdmin-Announcements] IBM License Metric Tool application update 9.2.19 is now available!

This update includes the following key features:
·       Enabler for reporting non-containerized Cloud Pak programs
License Metric Tool reports information about utilization of license 
metrics by non-containerized products that are installed as part of Cloud 
Paks. 
Benefits: Visibility of software products that are installed as part of 
Cloud Paks and their license metric utilization.
·       Support for new platforms and virtualization technologies
o       Citrix Hypervisor 8
o       IBM i 7.4
o       Oracle Compute Instance
·       Security enhancements

Other important changes:
·       End of support for DB 10.1 as a database for the License Metric 
Tool server
Support for DB2 10.1 as a database for the License Metric Tool server is 
removed. To upgrade to License Metric Tool 9.2.19, first migrate to a 
higher version of DB2. For information about plans related to supporting 
DB2, see: Changes in versions of DB2 supported by the License Metric Tool 
server.
·       Support for DB 11.5 as a database for the License Metric Tool 
server
Support for DB2 11.5 as a database for the License Metric Tool server is 
introduced. This version of the database is also supported by BigFix 
starting from version 9.5.14.
·       End of support for some operating systems and virtualization 
technologies
Support is dropped for the following operating systems and virtualization 
technologies. If you are using any of them, upgrade to newer versions that 
are supported by License Metric Tool.
·       Operating systems
o       Debian 7
o       IBM i 5.1
o       Oracle Solaris 10
o       Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 on x86
o       Ubuntu 12
o       Ubuntu 14
o       Windows Vista
·       Hypervisor and virtualization technologies
o       Red Hat Virtualization 3.x
o       VMware vSphere 5.x
o       XenServer / Citrix XenServer 6.x

·       Changes in the process of upgrading from very old releases
Upgrading the License Metric Tool server to the latest version remains a 
one-click process for 8 versions back. It means, that you can upgrade to 
version 9.2.19 with one click from version 9.2.11 or higher. For older 
versions, you need to first obtain the intermediate installer. Then, you 
can upgrade the License Metric Tool server to the latest version.
·       Inventory Exploration report becomes deprecated
Inventory Exploration report becomes deprecated. It is planned to be 
removed in the coming release of License Metric Tool. Instead of the 
deprecated report, use the Software Summary report that provides extended 
information about your software inventory.
·       Deprecated version of the Software Installations report is removed
