The Tivoli Endpoint Manager for Software Use Analysis team is pleased to
announce the release of the first catalog update for SUA 2.0. The major
changes included in this update are:

- Fixes for incorrect organization of some software suites (e.g.,
Microsoft Office, see attachment below for complete list)
- ISV catalog updates through December (all updates through SUA 1 catalog
27)
- Updates to the IBM component detection signatures

The SUA 2 catalog is distributed via a fixlet (number 47 in the IBM
Software Inventory) site. This fixlet will place the latest catalog on
your SUA 2 server in the SUA installation directory under "sua_catalog"
folder (default: "C:\Programs Files\BigFix Enterprise\TEMA\sua_catalog").

Software Catalog Installation Process:

1) If your organization does not customize the software catalog

  - Log in to TEM SUA

  - Go to Management >> Catalog Update

  - Click "Browse" and locate the downloaded catalog file

  - Click "Upload"

  - The catalog will be installed during the next import.

2) If your organization has customized the software catalog

  - Log in to SWKBT

  - Go to Manage Imports >> Canonical XML Document

  - Click on "New Import" and follow the SWKBT upload wizard (refer to
SWKBT documentation for catalog upload and conflict resolution)

  - Then go to Manage Exports >> Publish Catalog

  - Check "Canonical 2.0 (for Software Use Analysis 2.0)" and click
"Publisher"

  - Log in to TEM SUA

  - Go to Management >> Catalog Servers

  - Click "Update catalog" button (refer to TEM SUA 2 documentation on
how to set up connection to SWKBT)

  - The catalog will be installed during the next import.

Also included in this content update is a revision to the scanner
management fixlets, changing how bzip2 is deployed. If you are
successfully running ITSIT and CIT scans now, no action is required.
However, if you have experienced failures with the "Initiate Common
Inventory Technology Scan" fixlet due to bzip2 not being present, please
uninstall both ITSIT and CIT and then re-deploy them.

Best regards,

Software Use Analytics Catalog Team
