IBM is pleased to announce the general availability of the Tivoli Endpoint
Manager for Software Use Analysis (pka BigFix DSS SAM) Software Catalog
June Update.

Applicable versions: This Software Catalog upgrade file will work with DSS
SAM versions 1.1 and later, and Tivoli Endpoint Manager for Software Use
Analysis 1.3 and later. If you are currently running an earlier version,
please
download the latest product release (Tivoli Endpoint Manager for Software
Use Analysis 1.3.1), upgrade your server, and then apply the catalog
update.

This catalog upgrade contains everything you need to bring DSS SAM or
Tivoli Endpoint Manager for Software Use Analysis up to date with the most
comprehensive list of current software publishers, software titles,
software title versions, and application signatures. If you choose to
install the update, all customizations you have already made to your
catalog will remain intact.

The upgrade package, instructions for merging the update into your existing
deployment, and a complete list of catalog additions is available at the
same URL you received from BigFix or IBM Licensing when you were initially
granted your license for the product.

Installation time will vary according to a number of factors, such as
server activity. For most deployments, it should take just a few minutes to
download the package and apply the update to your server.

Remember, after any update to the Catalog, please check for changes that
may affect your inventory results by looking through the Contracts in the
tool, checking the Ambiguous Entries list for items you may need to tune,
and examining the Unmapped Packages and Unmapped Executables for items to
add to the Catalog. These simple steps will ensure the Catalog stays tuned
for your environment.

In addition to regular periodic releases of the product, we also expect to
continue to provide software catalog updates on an approximately monthly
basis.
