A maintenance version of DSS SAM — version 1.2.3 — was released to customers today. This release resolves a recently-discovered bug in the import process that can cause “0” and “N/A” results for application usage data in DSS SAM reports. Affected customers will see obvious failures in their DSS SAM import process and, as a result, they will have incomplete software inventory results. This release also includes a comprehensive update to the Software Catalog. A standalone installer for the Catalog is also available for those customers on pre-1.2.3 versions that are not affected by the bug.

The DSS SAM version 1.2.3 installer contains a full installation of the web application and database component of the product — an installation of a previous version of DSS SAM is not a pre-requisite. However, if a previous version of DSS SAM is already installed in your environment, you may upgrade to version 1.2.3 without uninstalling the previous version. To do this, download DSS SAM 1.2.3 and run the installer on the computer where DSS SAM is currently running, ensuring that the DSS SAM database server is running and accessible. The installer will automatically detect DSS SAM in your environment and replace it with version 1.2.3 in the same environment without affecting your application data or configurations.

All currently-licensed DSS SAM customers may now download the update and all associated product documentation using the same URL they received from BigFix Licensing when they purchased the product.
