Dear BigFix admins,

As you may have noticed, the Red Hat content stream includes fixlets for installing packages that aren't installed. We originally constructed the relevance in these types of fixlets so that if a system does not contain any of the packages contained in the fixlets, then the fixlets will be relevant. The reason for doing this was to provide users a means to easily apply new packages released by Red Hat. This has proved confusing to admins working in a patching context, so we are changing these fixlets to "normal" fixlets which will not be relevant by default.

We are not completely deleting the fixlets for two reasons:

1) Although these fixlets would never become relevant, the Red Hat bulletin pages for them have no indication that these are first of their kind packages, which could lead to confusion when comparing BigFix results to Red Hat Network results.

2) The BigFix Red Hat patching dashboard can use these to easily create custom solutions to install these new packages. The user can simply click the fixlet and the entire package list would auto populate the dashboard.

The affected site versions are:

Patches for RHEL3: 33

Patches for RHEL4: 54

Patches for RHEL5: 65
Linux RPM Patching: 93

Thank you,
-- The BigFix Product Team
