BigFix is very pleased to announce the immediate availability of a new version of the Client Manager for Anti-Virus product.



First and foremost, the product now has a new name.  Client Manager for Anti-Virus is now Client Manager for Endpoint Protection.



Client Manager for Endpoint Protection (CMEP) is an extension of the existing Client Manager for Anti-Virus, but now encompasses Anti-Virus tools, spyware tools, and device control capabilities. This application enables the management of third-party endpoint security clients from vendors such as McAfee, Symantec, IBM and Trend Micro through the BigFix Unified Management Platform. More than just a way to put anti-malware defense under a BigFix umbrella, BigFix Client Manger for Endpoint Protection brings unprecedented scalability, speed and thoroughness to keep organizations steps ahead of external threats.



The key features that we've added to this product include:



* New and improved dashboard interface to more quickly and accurately measure the health of the malware tools on the endpoint.

* New Anti-virus Definition Update Wizard to enable customers to more easily update out-of-date AV definitions for select third-party vendor tools.

* More easily accessible and easier to use McAfee On-Demand Scan Wizard and Windows Defender Update Wizard

* Support for Windows 7 on Symantec, McAfee, and Trend Micro supported products

* Support for Windows 2008 on Symantec, Trend Micro and Sophos

* Support for Mac on McAfee and Symantec

* Inclusion of BigFix device control capability (previously only available within the SCMv3 product)





The previous versions of the Client Manager for Anti-Virus Dashboard and Anti-Virus Definition Update Wizard are still available but marked as 'Superceded'.  The older versions will be supported for now but will be discontinued in the near future.



Any customers that currently own either the Endpoint Protection solution pack or the Client Manager for Anti-virus solution module will have access to the new dashboard and content through the existing Client Manager for Anti-Virus masthead.
