BigFix is pleased to announce the general availability of Trend Core Protection Module (CPM) for Mac!

What is the Core Protection Module for Mac?

The Core Protection Module (CPM) for Mac is the integrated Anti-Malware protection product that we have integrated with Trend Micro.  Based on the Core Protection Module for Windows and the award-winning Trend Micro Office Scan engine, CPM for Mac provides BigFix customers with a true anti-malware protection suite for Mac-based systems.   The solution leverages the existing CPM dashboard and provides seamless installation, visibility, management through a single, integrated Console.  Customers can leverage CPM and CPM for Mac to manage their endpoint real-estate and protect their endpoints from Malware and Web-based threats.  The key features of CPM for Mac includes:

1) Mac-based support - Support for the following Mac-based platforms:

* Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
* Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
* Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

2) Anti-Malware support - Protects endpoints against viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware, rootkits, new malware variants, and malicious websites.  It also includes built-in cleaning for removal of spyware and hidden rootkits.

3) Web Protection Module (WPM) - Powered by the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network, WPM proactively protects your company against web threats or bot-related activity-whether accessed through the browser or an application.

This new module is purchased as part of the CPM product offering that is included within our Endpoint Protection solution pack.  For existing customers, no additional purchase is required provided they have unused client licenses available.

Site Versions

The update for CPM for Mac requires additional updates for the following sites.  Please check your deployments and ensure that the most recent version is gathered in order to take advantage of this capability.

Trend Core Protection Module for Mac - Site Version: 1
Trend Micro Core Protection Module - Site Version: 9
Trend Micro Reporting - Site Version: 8
