We're pleased to announce the general availability of DSS SAM 1.1.1!

If you have not yet done so, please check out a demo or try an eval of this
awesome new BigFix product. DSS SAM leverages the unmatched accuracy and
depth of asset data available with BigFix. Enterprises use DSS SAM to
analyze software and hardware inventory and compare this inventory to
software license purchase records to prevent piracy, over purchasing, and
shelfware. DSS SAM can also help mitigate issues by quickly finding
incorrectly configured systems and outdated or disallowed software. It¹s an
extremely user-friendly and efficient product with the potential to
radically reduce the number of hours spent on inventory and license true-up
activities.

DSS SAM 1.1.1 is a minor release that includes bug fixes, a few minor UI
updates, support for installing DSS SAM on Windows Server 2008, and hundreds
of updates and additions to the Software Catalog as documented in the
product release notes. Currently-licensed DSS SAM customers should now
download the release and all associated product documentation using the same
URL they received from BigFix Licensing when they purchased the product.

The DSS SAM version 1.1.1 installer contains a full installation of the web
application and database component of the product ‹ an installation of a
previous version of DSS SAM is not a pre-requisite. However, if a previous
version of DSS SAM is already installed in your environment, you may upgrade
to version 1.1.1 without uninstalling the previous version. The upgrader
automatically takes care of data and settings migration, stopping the
application services temporarily as key components are upgraded. All custom
data in a pre-existing deployment, such as users, groups, data sources,
computer properties, contracts, software titles and other changes to the
Software Catalog will remain in-tact after the upgrade.

All deployments of DSS SAM 1.0 and 1.1 are encouraged to upgrade to 1.1.1 to
take full advantage of the latest asset and software license management
capabilities of the product.
