[BESAdmin-Announcements] Content Modification Announcement - Enterprise Security

BigFix has made several modifications to Fixlet content in the
"Enterprise Security" site:

 

1. Microsoft has revised Security Bulletin MS07-047. The following
Fixlet messages have been modified accordingly:

 

ID: 704709      MS07-047: Vulnerabilities in Windows Media Player Could
Allow Remote Code Execution - Windows Media Player 11 - Windows XP SP2

ID: 704710      MS07-047: CORRUPT PATCH - Windows Media Player 11 -
Windows XP SP2

 

2. Microsoft has released Security Advisory 932596
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/932596.mspx).
BigFix has created new content and has superseded these previous Kernel
Patch Protection Fixlet Messages:

 

ID: 91478402  914784: CORRUPT PATCH - Windows XP/2003 (x64) (Superseded)

ID: 91478401  914784: Update to Improve Kernel Patch Protection -
Windows XP/2003 (x64) (Superseded)

 

3. The operating system relevance has been corrected for Windows XP x64
Professional in the following fixlets:

Remote Code Execution - .NET Framework 1.0 SP3 - Windows XP/2003 (x64)

ID: 704008      MS07-040: CORRUPT PATCH - .NET Framework 1.0 SP3 -

ID: 704021      MS07-040: Vulnerabilities in .NET Framework Could Allow
Remote Code Execution - .NET Framework 2.0 - Windows XP/2003 (x64)

ID: 704022      MS07-040: CORRUPT PATCH - .NET Framework 2.0 - Windows
XP/2003 (x64)

ID: 704215      MS07-042: Vulnerability in Microsoft XML Core Services
Could Allow Remote Code Execution - XML Core Services 5.0 - SharePoint
Server 2007/Groove Server 2007 (x64)

 

4. BigFix has modified the relevance to support SQL 2000 Non-Default
Instances (with no Default Instances):

 

ID: 204015      UPDATE: SQL Server / MSDE 2000 Service Pack 4 Available
(Non-Default SQL Instances and Non-Microsoft MSDE Installs)

 

 

5. BigFix has also modified the relevance to re-organize selected x64
content. The following Fixlet messages are affected:

 

91742507, 91742506, 91742505, 92789108, 92789107, 93259603, 93259601,
93259602, 93596406, 93596405

 

BES administrators are encouraged to verify open actions and synchronize
baselines that contain the modified content if appropriate.
